Dental Implant Timeline
Month by month, here is how long implant treatment actually takes.
Weeks 1 to 2: planning
Consultation, 3D scan and digital planning. If an extraction or bone graft is needed, it happens at this stage.
Month 1: placement
The implant post is placed, usually in under an hour per implant. Soreness typically lasts a few days.
Months 2 to 5: integration
Bone fuses to the implant. You wear a temporary tooth if the site is visible. This phase cannot be rushed.
Month 4 to 6: the crown
Once integrated, we scan for the final crown and fit it. From there it is cared for like a natural tooth.
If grafting is needed
A bone or sinus graft adds three to six months before placement, so the full timeline can reach a year.
