Dental Insurance Benefits: Use It or Lose It
Unused benefits do not roll over. Every December, patients leave real money behind.
How the maximum works
Your plan pays up to a set amount per benefit year, usually $1,000 to $2,000. Whatever you do not use disappears at year end.
Your deductible resets too
If you have already met this year's deductible, completing treatment before December is meaningfully cheaper than starting over in January.
Splitting treatment
For larger treatment plans we can sometimes stage work across two benefit years so two annual maximums apply instead of one.
Plan ahead
Fall appointments fill quickly. If you have benefits remaining, book by October rather than late December.
